Placebook Panorama
Placebook
Panorama was presented at the Venice Architecture Biennale 2010 as part of the
exhibition Vacant NL, where architecture meets ideas. Besides the objective of
the curators to call upon the Dutch government to make use of the enormous
potential of inspiring, vacant buildings from the 17th,
18th, 19th,
20th and 21st
centuries for innovation within the creative knowledge economy, the design team
also felt the need to refer to the future.
In Placebook Panorama Brabara Visser made, beginning from the
present in time and place, relationships tangible between buildings, projects
and people. Starting from the small team that worked on Vacant NL, 6-10
persons, Placebook makes clear and concrete what great potential they represent
by the accumulation of experience, contacts and creativity. Out of their activities
in various disciplines (landscape architecture, graphic and product design,
philosophy, economics, photography, text) a practice of professional
connections and crossovers emerges that, if physically facilitated to larger degree,
could bring an wealth of insights, knowledge and novel initiatives.
